Be Exceptional

Your best life awaits . . .

You know there must be more to this life—and you’re right! Our mission is to help you discover your higher purpose. We want to lead you in the quest to live in alignment with your authentic self and be exceptional in all you do.

We believe life lifts us all up and kicks us all down. We know this because we experience it every day. We also believe there is more to life than settling for the status quo. Life is what you make of it. We were all put on this planet fully empowered with minds, bodies, and spirits—not to mention unique gifts and strengths.

We believe you can be a rock in a river of chaos. We believe you can be part of a revolution of transformation that makes this world a better place. We not only believe you can be exceptional—we know you can be, because it’s simply a matter of choice, every minute of every day. Choose to be exceptional.

In business, when we engage all the members of our organizations to use their strengths and highest time-management skills, we all succeed. Together we are exceptional. When we ask everyone to have an opinion, more heads are better, every time. When we create cohesive teams where people trust each other, have healthy conflicts, commit to the best decisions, hold each other accountable, and focus on the collective results, we harness the number-one competitive advantage in business. Together we are exceptional. When everyone feels relevant and knows he or she is impactful, leaders and creators emerge.

This state of being carries over to our personal and family lives, and these goals are within reach. The choice is yours. Choose to be exceptional. We believe in you, and we’re here to help.

Exceptional Principles

Work Ethic

It takes hard work and working smart to reach your fullest potential. You can be anything you want to be, but you must want it enough to work for it. The harder you work and the more you persevere, the more resilient you will become. Adversity builds strength and character.

You choose your circumstances. Require yourself to choose optimism and happiness, because the choice is yours! You decide who you will be and how you will feel each day.

Unique Gifts

You have been blessed with a gift that makes you unique in this world. You must dig deep and find out what drives you, decide what impact you will have, and discover who you are. Once you find your gift, it is your responsibility to use it to contribute.

There are no such things as excuses or reasons; there are just priorities. Decide what is important to you, own it, and do it. Make it important.

Take a look at your life and see the beauty and abundance. Give it attention and it will grow.

If you are not growing, you are dying. Commit to learning and becoming your highest and best self. Be coachable. Cherish your struggles for what they teach you and who they will make you. Strive for clarity, vision, self-mastery, presence, and intuition.

Be inspired and be inspiring. Encourage and serve others. Have significance and be significant. Be authentic, trust intimacy, and lead from respect and values.

Be in a relationship from a place of understanding, acceptance, and respect. Walk in another’s shoes.

Vision and Values

We seek to have an impact and leave a legacy.

  • Connection: connect and collaborate
  • Gratitude: focus on blessings and choose happiness
  • Inspiration and impact: share to inspire; our impact comes from our experiences
  • Growth: strive for self-mastery, seek wisdom, continually learn, be coachable
  • Empathy: offer understanding and compassion
  • Faith: belief is enough

Meet Dawn Abbott, Founder of Be Exceptional

Dawn Abbott has led a successful life. Professionally, she owns three profitable businesses and has been self-employed for twenty-five years. She served for two years as the western regional vice president for International Live Events Association (ILEA) and has served six years on the ILEA Denver Board of Directors. She was inducted into the ILEA Denver Hall of Fame as well as the Colorado Meeting and Events Magazine Hall of Fame. Dawn has also served on the Meetings Industry Council Board, the Denver Small Business Development Center Advisory Board, and the Colorado Meetings and Events Magazine Advisory Board. In her personal life, Dawn has raised three children and traveled the world.

But Dawn did not always live life in an exceptional way. Although her life was abundant and richly blessed, she often focused on the frustrations and the things that were missing. Then, her life exploded. After the untimely death of her husband, she was forced to examine the debris of her shattered life.

In the face of this overwhelming adversity, she realized she had the opportunity to put the pieces back together however she wanted. The choice was hers. She chose to make a change. She chose to be bold. She chose to feel her pain and rise from it rather than hide from it. She chose to discover who she was at her core and to accept and embrace it.

Dawn’s experience of self-discovery and choosing to be exceptional has allowed her to help individuals, families, working moms, youth groups, and organizations walk their own paths and be exceptional. Through speaking engagements, workshops, and coaching she has created a strategy to help others find their gifts and use them to live lives of purpose—lives where they can choose happiness and gratitude, lives of authenticity. Dawn’s gift and purpose is to make an impact—to help others be exceptional.

Who are you, and who were you created to become?

We tend to live most of life and make decisions by simply going through the motions, without any real intention or purpose.
I’m inviting you to do life differently. To do life exceptionally. I invite you on a journey. A journey of self-discovery and personal growth, into ever-increasing authenticity and self-love.
